A powerful wine with great elegance. Full juice with lots of ripe dark fruit, balsamic, licorice. A beautiful balance followed by a concentrated aftertaste, a beautiful complex wine.
At the beginning of the 18th century, the Libéral family linked their name to the Chateau and thus changed the course of the winery forever. As time went on, they gained control of more and more prestigious areas of land within Pauillac. Château Haut-Bages Libéral's vineyard is half located on a historic plot called 'Bages'. Hence the name. The other half borders Chateau Latour and runs along the banks of the Gironde. The vineyard is on clayey soil. This provides a certain mineral touch to the wines. The agreements made in 1855 ensured that this wine can bear the title of grand cru classé.
