Domaine Bousquet Malbec Dulce 2020

Domaine Bousquet Malbec Dulce

This Dulce is made from 100% Malbec grapes. The grapes are harvested late, when they are dry. The wine undergoes a long pre and post maceration and fermentation. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French and American oak used for the second time, followed by at least 8 months of aging in the bottle.

This wine has a violet, almost black color with high intensity and light notes. The nose reveals intense, rich aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, chocolate and hints of coffee. In the mouth flavors of ripe plums, marmalade and chocolate, with a full body, soft tannins and a long aftertaste. Many concentrated aromas with a fine texture thanks to the good balance of natural sugars and acidity.

This Dulce Malbec is delicious with desserts, chocolate and cheeses. This wine can be kept for another 8 years.

Jean Bousquet grew up in a wine family near Carcassonne in France. When he was 48, he was looking for a place in the New World to start a new wine company. It eventually became the Uco Valley, 70 km south of Mendoza near the town of Tupungato. According to him, the location at 1200 meters close to the Andes and the poor, sandy soil with pebbles was the ideal terroir for quality wines. It turned out to be a golden opportunity.

In 1997, the Uco Valley was an arid plain at the foot of the Andes. Jean Bousquet and some pioneers saw the possibilities for viticulture here. The relatively cool climate, low rainfall and high luminosity are ideal for the cultivation of wine grapes.

Jean Bousquet is a hardworking Frenchman who has found his niche in the Tupungato. Bousquet's style is characterized by the expression of the terroir with an eye for finesse and elegance.
