Vinification

The fermentation lasts 8 days at a temperature of approximately 32 degrees in stainless steel vats. A small portion ferments in new oak barrels. After this process, the wine matures for 18 months in French new oak.

Origin

The vineyard with Pinotage measures 10.49 hectares and is planted with old vines from 1985. The most recent planting in this area was in 2007. Supplementary irrigation is only used in the hot and dry periods, because the groundwater table then dries out. could be. There are 8 blocks of Pinotage positioned in different places on the slope. Certain blocks are isolated for specific vinification styles and the best L'Avenir wines. L'Avenir has selected Block 2 (1.2 hectares) as the vineyard for the Single Block Pinotage.
