Leitz Riesling Magic Mountain

The grapes for the Magic Mountain Riesling come from the steeper vineyards, around the 'grosse lagen'. A wine that forms a fantastic bridge between the Ortswein and the Grosses Gewächs. In the scent the wine has exotic notes, chamomile and lemon peel. Very pure, as is the taste, which is creamy and shows an astonishing amount of minerals with an accompanying long aftertaste. We taste exotic fruits such as lychee, mango, papaya and a hint of passion fruit. Delicate and with fine herbs, which characterizes the wines from Rüdesheim.

Johannes Leitz has been a member of the VDP (Association of the Best Wine Producers in Germany) since 1996 and one of the few ambassadors for German Rieslings who have brought the modern qualities and knowledge of these fine wines to today's international markets.

As a highlight of his success to date, he was named "Viticulturalist of the Year 2011" by Gault Millau and the winery finally received the long-awaited 5th grape / 5th star in Gault Millau and Eichelmann in 2019, which are among the most important German wine guides. With this award, the winery is one of the best wineries in Germany after consistent quality optimization. It honors us all the more because it is a long-term development that was assessed by the two wine guides.

Johannes Leitz is not only a pioneer with the wines, in recent years he has created a series of alcohol-free wines, with the idea that every alcohol-free wine should be a reflection of the grape and its substrate. A series of characterful alcohol-free wines, which serve as a reference for alcohol-free wines all over the world. And the development of these wines is also ongoing. There is plenty of experimenting with other grape varieties, but also a search for further refinement of the product.
