Petra Hebo IGT Rosso Toscana 2021
Petra Hebo IGT Rosso Toscana
A ruby red color with aromas of black cherry, violet, blackberry and mineral notes. The taste is aromatic, juicy and fruity.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. This wine comes from vineyards with a sandy subsoil that contains lime. The wine matures for at least 12 months in oak barrels.
Petra comes from Pietra (Latin for stone) and represents the solidity of the work that both Victor and Francesca Moretti (father and daughter) have as the basis for their work. Petra is located in San Gemignano, Tuscany. The estate extends over 300 hectares and has vineyards, forests and olive trees. The ground can be divided into three parts. The first part is stone ground, these are the very poor parts of the estate. The second part is more interesting thanks to the mountains that secrete metal. This is absorbed into the soil, making this part very fertile. The third part is the lowest part of the site. This piece of land is the deepest part with many nutritional values. These different types of soil create different wines, where in the first part mainly strength and body are reflected in the wine, in area three suppleness and elegance are what return.
The fact that the renowned wine critic James Suckling gave this wine 93 out of 100 points clearly shows that even an "experiment" from Petra can grow to a very high level.
