Salentein
Winery bodegas Salentein strives to produce the highest quality of Argentinian wines. This is done with respect for the people, nature and the local community. After all, they are inextricably linked to the winery. For example, investments are made to create employment and train the local population.
Portillo
The name Portillo comes from the historic mountain pass between the Andes Mountains and the Uco Valley. This pass served as access for Charles Darwin to the other side of the mountain range. Today it is the gateway to the fantastic Portillo vineyards of the Bodegas Salentein.
Vinification
The grapes are manually sorted and carefully processed. The Portillo range uses modern techniques such as cooled fermentation in large stainless steel tanks. In this way the true expression of pure fruit comes to the fore.
Origin
The character of this Portillo Dulce has its origins in the location of the vineyard, at the foot of the Andes at an altitude of more than 1000 meters. The average 30 year old vines benefit from the large difference in day and night temperatures. This certainly benefits the development and diversity of fresh fruit flavors in the Portillo wine.
