Salentein Barrel Selection Pinot Noir 2022
Salentein Barrel Selection Pinot Noir
Drinking advice
You can combine Pinot Noir with many different dishes. For example, go for pasta with creamy sauces and mushrooms, game dishes or rich cheeses.
Wine House
The wine is made under the direction of Bodegas Salentein, the very prestigious wine project of the Dutchman M. Pon started in 1997. Trendsetter in Argentinian wine and ideal for top quality wine.
Barrel selection
The Barrel Selection from Salentein is characterized by aging in oak barrels. On the one hand, maturing in wooden barrels gives the wine more structure and flavor, but it also causes the wine to lose its sharp edges.
Vinification
Winemaker José Galante handles this delicate Pinot Noir in style. Before fermentation and before the grapes are crushed, a cold soaking period of 6 days takes place. During this period, extra color and flavor aromas are released into the juice without extraction of tannin and bitter substances. After fermentation, this Barrel Selection matures for 10 months in French oak.
Origin
The Barrel Selection vineyards are located in the heart of Alto Valle de Uco, more than 1200 meters above sea level. Here the Pinot Noir grape grows on coarse rock, which ensures perfect drainage and forces the roots of the plant to root deeply in a search for nutrients for this delicious Barrel Selection.
